1/18 AUTOart Lamborghini Murcielago (Balloon White)

Between the years 2001 and 2011 the Murcielago was Lamborghini's flagship vehicle.
People who know me know of my undying love for Lamborghini and my juvenile belief that they are the best automobile manufacturer ever. As I got older, I realized they may not be the BEST car company out there. But the important thing is that they are my favorite.

Since I was young, I have always loved the Countach and Diablo (multiple posters in my room of both). In 2001 when the Murcielago was first released, I immediately was drawn to it and dubbed the Murcielago as my dream car.

Some people have a passion for art, writing, music. My passion has always been cars, and no car has received more thought my life more than the Murcielago. It has been the pinnacle of vehicles in my mind. Countless hours spent just reading about specs, times, manufacturing and technology surrounded such an unbelievable machine. To me, it was the perfect package. It was never the fastest car or most expensive. For me it had just the proper amount of power, the proper amount of style and the proper amount of heritage/innovation where it seemed to be the perfect balance of everything. A rolling piece of art .

At the age of 13, I saw this model at a store in West Edmonton Mall and obviously at that age $89.99 is an excessive amount of money to spend on a car model. I came back time after time to view the model, with its shiny metal brake discs and 5 pane box which allowed viewing from any angle. Then one day I came back to the store and it was gone. It was for the better. No point in looking at something time after time knowing you'll never have it.

2011 saw the end of the Murcielago's reign and the release of a faster, more technologically advanced Lamborghini to replace its ageing predecessor: The Aventador. With the production of the Murcielago coming to an end I decided to celebrate the life of the Murcielago and honour it by pursuing the model that has always been in the back of my mind. For the past few years, I have been in an on/off search for this model but was none turned up. I could easily have picked up one in orange or black. But White has always been my favourite color on this legendary car and it stuck to me after viewing it so many times in that little store. When one finally turned up, I knew it was my only chance at obtaining one. I paid a premium on it, but the feelings of that 13 year old boy looking through the glass to see this model was well worth it.

I hope you enjoy the pictures. Don't forget about the legendary Murcielago even though the much new Aventador may shadow it. Cars will always become faster, more powerful, use more complicated and expensive materials, but the impact they make on our lives will stay with us forever.

Transformers Alternity: Convoy/Nissan GT-R

Alrite, So i've been pretty god damn busy with getting a job locked down for may internship time. But got it secured, so thats why i've been off and busy. But hey, with a job more collectibles up for you guys to check out. Right?

So I picked this up last summer in HK. Bought this guy right in the airport and played with it during the flight all the way back in between sleeping.

As you guys all know, the Transformers Alternators line was really popular and had real life vehicles transform into select Transformers. These were a huge hit, but sadly when they were popular I wasn't making enough money to even think about buying one of these.

Transformers has rebooted them with a new line called "Alternity" and this was one of the first ones made. I picked Super Silver because it was the original color the GT-R was presented in. This is by far one of my favorite figures, and I paid a lot for this guy.

400HKD. Which is close to 50 bucks canadian, but all in all I think its worth it.

The figure looks great as a robot, or as a car. The shut lines are tight and the details are amazing.

Robot Form: He's pretty solid and stands really good. He has the same structure as bumblebee for transformation with the doors in the back and the rear end folding out to his legs. The joints are really tight, and the only thing I think he's missing is a gun or something. He only has 2 gattling guns on his forearms.

Car Mode: This is by far the most impressive part. They modeled the interior by providing seats and a steering wheel. (on the right hand side, very true to JDM). The hood opens up to reveal a pretty shotty made engine, but even making one is impressive enough! It has the valve cover just as seen in the real car. The last really impressive part is that the rims are made really nice, and theres pretty realistic disc brakes behind there.

All this quality and technicallity packed into a Car model in 1/32 scale is pretty damn impressive. Its definitely worth the buy. I couldn't afford another one, but just having 1 makes all the difference. Enjoy the pics.
