Summer Blog Challenge - 30 Days of GEEK AND OCTANE POWERED HYPENESS

Welcome once again. Another year, to those who were here last year and to the new that are joining us this year, thank you for coming and eating Cookies from myself, the Crazy Wookiee. Before I start writing anything, I want to say first that I worked very hard for a lot of things I will be showing you. If you don't read a single one of my posts all 30 days, at least read this one. And if you do end up reading even one of my posts, please please please comment. It really gives me an extra edge for me to keep this going and know what you guys are really interested in seeing me dig up.

First, the grand agenda of this post:
1. What is the Summer Blog Challenge?
2. New Rules/Change ups and reflections (for myself)
3. My background and what you guys can expect (for those that are new)
4. I like numbered lists.

1. What is Summer Blog Challenge? Proper Definition and rules : http://www.bisonweb.ca/blog/?p=395
TL;DR: A lot of bloggers don't blog enough. My good friend Liam recognizes this and created this summer blog challenge. 30 days, 1 post a day. Starts August 21, ends Sept 21. Goal: fuel your blog and read/interact with others participating in the challenge. I am glad to be apart of it for the third year running!

2. New Rules/Change ups and reflections (for myself)
1) My blog is all about cars/collectibles/popculture. I understand that these are niche areas that a lot of people aren't interested in, so I'm gonna twist up the language. Those of you that know me, will be surprised at my new "writing style" (I suck ass at writing. Maybe new "attitude". But it's like Top Gear! It's about cars, but anyone who doesn't like cars should be able to watch too!
2) I own a better camera, a Nikon D3200, and also a GoPro. I'll try to be using these this blog challenge to deliver to you guys better pics and hopefully some footage.

3. A bit about me and what you guys can expect. Basically on my blog there's 3 things that are always reoccurring:
1) I'm a pretty serious collector/hobbyist
2) I'm a pretty serious car enthusiast/tuner
3) I worked hard for everything in 1 and 2, so sorry if it seems like I gloat about some of my things. Mommy and Daddy didn't buy me my sports car and I use to work for $7.75/hr to buy some of my collectibles!

1) I'm a serious collector. If you've been here before then you already know. But I have a TON of stuff. Over the years, I've reorganized, sold of a lot, bought things I liked more. I'd always "scale up my collection". I've gotten rid of a lot of smaller and cheaper items and put it towards more expensive and sought after items. Every item I post on here will be either unique, hard to find, or have a great story behind it. + lots of pics. Lots and lots of pics. Pics of toys. Examples of a few things I consistently collect:
Might Muggs:

High end Car Models:

A lot of other stuff:

2) I'm a pretty hardcore car enthusiast. I bought a Scion FR-S last summer and upon this year's summer blog challenge, I've owned the car for a little over 1 year. Also I'm a pretty big modder/tuner and I like to be out and about in the car scene quite a bit. Because I was one of the first people in the city to get this car, I started an FR-S owners club and as of today we have right over 50 members and growing quickly. Eventually my parts list grew and my car has become pretty recognizable on the street.

3) I paid for my own hobbies. I started working very early and collecting very early. I'm 23 years old and I worked at Michaels Arts & Crafts for 7 years up until June 16th, which helped me pursue my hobby and finish school. I had a 16 month co-op at Haemonetics and I saved up every dollar I used to buy and modify the car during this time period. I owe nothing on this car. I graduated from the U of A in computing science this past December and started working at Telus March 4th this year as a software developer. I've had the privilege of working with Grandmaster Programmer Liam (Who is also the founder of the summer day blog challenge) at both Haemonetics and Telus. So my blog may seem like it's just a collection of things I bought and collected, but hey. I worked my ass off! And bonus, you guys get to see and read and learn about these things without spending a penny!

I hope you guys enjoy joining me for the next 30 days of geek and octane powered goodness.
