Limited Edition Iron Man Mark II 1/6 Scale by Hot Toys

This is the big one.

The Hot Toys 1/6 figures are the forefront of my collection. They are the flagship and most valuable of all the collectibles I own. The amount of detail, care and assembly that has gone into each of these figs by Hot Toys is remarkable. I currently only own 4 because not only are they the most cherished of my collection, but they are also the most expensive.

Some background first about the scale and then the company. The reason behind the 1/6 is that it is 1/6 of the original character it is modeled after. They are also referred to as 12" figures since the average height of these guys are about a foot tall. 1/6 figures emerged after collectors demanded more detail, more precise sculpts and greater collectibility. Now 1/6 figures are a standard scale for collectibles and there exists many companies that create figures in this size. 12" figures originally started as military figures, but over time have expanded into just about anything.

Hot Toys is a company that originated in Hong Kong and due to the quality and detail of their sculpts, they have captured the license of many movie's to use in creating these detailed figures. When Iron Man came out, they were awarded the contract to create the figures and since then I have acquired a few.

Alright, enough history lessons. Here's a quick preview of the detail of the figure. I encourage to click on the photo and blow it up. The detail is INSANE:

Unfortunately, these were the only pictures I got in before my camera crapped out. So for now all I can offer you guys is a bit of history on Hot Toys and 1/6 Scale and some pictures of the box. From the box you can immediately tell this figure is some HARDCORE SHIT.

Remember. This figure is a foot tall, so the box is freakin huge. Hopefully I get a good temp and take some pics of the figure outside of the box for you guys.
